  • Height: Handrails must be installed between 800 and 1150 mm above the steps to ensure optimal gripping height.
  • Diameter: A diameter between 30 and 45 mm is ideal to provide a comfortable and secure grip.
  • Mounting Location: The placement of handrails can be flexible on the stair railing, a parapet, or directly on the wall.
  • Wall Distance: For wall mounting, the minimum distance of the handrail to the wall must be 50 mm.
  • Continuous Design: To provide continuous support, handrails should extend beyond the outermost steps.
  • Compliance with Standards: Installation should always be in accordance with DIN 18065 and local building regulations.
